Over time, the FIRST® Robotics Competition Kit of Parts has evolved to meet the changing needs of our teams. These changes have included rolling out FIRST® Choice, Product Vouchers, and the ability to opt-out of both the Drive Base and the Black Tote.

We use feedback from our Partners, talking with teams at events, and each season’s Kit of Parts survey to help guide the changes made for future seasons.

You can continue to help us make improvements to the Kit of Parts by filling out this year’s Kit of Parts survey! The survey takes about 20 minutes to complete, and if you include your team number, your team is eligible for a chance to win your choice of goodies. We ask that no more than one student and one mentor from each team fill it out. You must be at least 13 years old, and it closes on Friday, May 24, 2024 at noon (Eastern Time).

This year, there are specific questions about the KitBot. We’ll use this feedback to help us improve the actual robot, the contents of the KOP, and the support materials available for it. There are also questions on the KitBot and support materials in the End of Season survey.

According to data collected by Team 118, the Robonauts, more than 500 teams competed with variations of the KitBot in 2024.

One of my favorite parts of travelling to events was hearing the ways teams had used the KitBot. Some built the standard configuration, others added functionality, and some built it as a starting point then built a whole different robot for competition. All of these are great! I’m so grateful for everyone who contributed to KitBot in 2024. Thank you all!
